About Us...

We are the members of 2 classes for pre-service teachers at Columbus State University. Members of  EDSE 3117 (Literature for Adolescents) met for a 3-week accelerated semester in 2019 and studied Gratz' novel (Refugee) as well as a variety of other YA texts. As middle and secondary English Language Arts (ELA) education majors, we worked collaboratively to develop resources for teaching Refugee and other YA novels. Additional instructional activities can be found on the "Meet the Teachers" page.

Members of EDCI 6796 met in summer of 2020. Together, we created resources for teaching the novel Resistance. Additional instructional activities can be found on the Teachers' Resources page.

Photos on this page show some of our EDSE 3117 class members in-action with middle school readers. For our class "final exam," we visited a local middle school and hosted a Book Bistro - an event in which we shared our books with students and learned about their reading tastes and recommendations.
